Mario's Bistro is located in the village of Sandy Ground in St Martin. It sits on the Marigot channel overlooking the water and its wildlife when the wheather and water permit it. The following instructions will help you find your way around the island when you look for us. Mario's is easy to find. The bright blue drawbridge over the canal is hard to miss, but there is even a neon sign there that says "The Bridge". We are on the Marigot side of this bridge with our familiar logo visible no matter which direction you approach from.
From Maho, Mullet Bay, and the Lowlands: Proceed from Maho, past the Mullet Bay Golf Course, Atlantis Casino, and Ocean Club to the border. Continue winding through the French lowlands past Bay Rouge, the many hotels of Nettle Bay, and into the built up area of Sandy Ground. You will come to the drawbridge over the French canal and should be able to see our sign on the top of our restaurant along the canal on the left. Cross over the bridge and take an immediate left. We are the third building on the left. We have a small parking lot in front of the building and there is parking along our street and the main street.
From Cole Bay: Head for the border going past the Ram's Food World supermarket. Continue into Marigot past the BFC bank, past Selina's Cloth store and turn left onto Rue de President Kennedy (RPK on the map). Take another left at the pharmacy which appears to be at the end of the RPK, although a much smaller lane does go through to the waterfront. Continue on this main road past the cemetary and just past the Magasin du Pont and the Stadium you will see the bridge and the road to Mario's Bistro on the right just before the bridge. The sign on the front of our building should be visible.
From Simpson Bay: Proceed east through Simpson Bay along the airport to the Dutch bridge over the canal. Continue past Billy Folly Road (leading to the Pelican Resort). Continue past the turnoff (soon to be a rotary) to Philipsburg and into Cole Bay. Follow the Cole Bay directions listed above.
From Pelican Cay and the Pelican, Flamingo, and La Vista Resorts: Come out of Pelican Cay via Billy Folly Road and turn right onto the maion road heading toward Cole Bay and Philipsburg. At the bottom of the hill, turn right toward Cole Bay and Marigot. Follow the Cole Bay directions above to go through Marigot to the French Bridge.
From Philipsburg: Head out of Philipsburg following signs to PJI airport, Simpson Bay, and Cole Bay. You will go over Cay Hill and turn right onto the main road heading toward Cole Bay and Philipsburg, away from PJI airport. Follow the Cole Bay directions above to go through Marigot to the French Bridge.
From Grand Case: Head west toward Marigot. There are many ways through Marigot complicated by one-way streets, but basically you should follow signs toward Sandy Ground and the Lowlands. The easiest way is probably to continue on the main road until you are forced to turn right. Take the next left and continue to a major intersection with Rue de President Kennedy (RPK on the map). The wine store Vinissimo will be across the intersection on the left corner and Changepoint will be across the street on the right. Turn right at this intersection and take a left at the pharmacy which appears to be at the end of the RPK, although a much smaller lane does go through to the waterfront. Continue on this main road past the cemetary and just past the Magasin du Pont and the Stadium you will see the bridge and the road to Mario's Bistro on the right just before the bridge. The sign on the front of our building should be visible.
From Orient Beach: Head north toward Grand Case. Follow the Grand Case directions to get through Marigot to the French Bridge.
From Oyster Pond: Head north toward Orient Beach and continue on to Grand Case. Follow the Grand Case directions to get through Marigot to the French Bridge.
From Anse Marcel, Mont Vernon, and Cul de Sac: Head out of thiese areas and turn right at the main road toward Grand Case to Marigot. Follow the Grand Case directions to get through Marigot to the French Bridge.
From Oyster Pond: Head north toward Orient Beach and proceed to Grand Case. Follow the Grand Case directions to get through Marigot to the French Bridge.
